Diablo 3 Release Date Rumors?

Reports have been coming out from some smaller sites that Diablo 3 Open beta is due to start on 9/11/2009 and that the full version is slated for release on Christmas eve of this year.

Of course first date, seems unlikely, as 9/11 is a fairly important date for Americans, and being the overly PC world we have become, it seems a bit off. However, time has passes and hopefully something that trivial would not be why they would change the date. The second date however is a very Blizzard thing to do. I would not be surprised if they did release it on Christmas. I am just starting to think christmas 2010 is more likely than 2009.


Of course this helps support other rumors that both StarCraft 2 and Diablo 3 will be released about the same time, or at least this year, which I am quite skeptical of. The believer in me however wants to have hope that if I add fuel, it just might come true. I mean this is blizzard after all, hitting a first release date and getting the date right 9 months in advance? that is not a very Blizzard -like action.

Like any rumor though, until Blizzard says something, its just another rumor. Still I am on pins and needles while I await the release of Diablo 3. Hopefully, as in the past with previous releases the wait will have all been worth the hype.
