The Sims 3 Review

Well it is finally here and selling fast. the long awaited sequel in the best selling Sims series from EA The Sims 3. This latest incarnation features all the game play you have come to love, making and caring for your "sims", as well as the ability to make videos of your Sims to share with your friends. The wait is over and dedicated Sims fans can finally see whats new.
Electronic Arts may be relying heavily on this franchise, but as of this writing the tactic seems to be working just fine with sales of 1.4 million copies in the first week. Thats right! 1.4 million. The original Sims game released back in 2000 has sold over 100 million copies, making it the best selling game of all time. With this first week setting new company recoreds it looks like Electronic Arts is going to have another Sims franchise hit on their hands.

Also of note is the Iphone version of The Sims 3 costing 10 dollars, has also garnered big numbers on its own. Seems fans just cant get enough of the cute simulated reality of the Sims in any platform.

The major differences in this version aren't the graphics, which, while pretty standard, are about the same as previous releases, but more in the programming of the Sims themselves. Gone is the number system , where number represented the Sims needs, now they Sims more intuitive, more responsive and emotionally layered in a word, more human. This is good news for the millions of fans, who were frequently frustrated by the previous games limitations.
The Sims 3 is sure to be a huge hit, and so far responses have been positive. Electronic Arts has another hit on its hands, and game players everywhere have a new game to enjoy for hours. The Sims 3 is a definite winner in our book!
